Week 19 Growing with Alazhay

Week 19 Growing with Alazhay

Week 19: Blooming and Glowing with Our Alazhay - Panda is Now the Size of a Mango! 🥭

Hey everyone! Week 19 has been all about changes and excitement for Alazhay and our sweet Panda (🐼 still loving the nickname!).

The Panda is KICKING!! Those flutters from last week have graduated to Kicks!!! Ohh the joy. Kodie got to feel his baby kick. How exciting for them!!

Here’s what’s new:

  • Sweet tooth is back: Alazhay was craving all things savoury for the last couple of months but this week has seen a return to the sweet tooth (yummmmm). 🍦
  • Kicking: Panda is definitely getting stronger as Alazhay is feeling plenty more kicks now.
  • Backaches: Yep, these are becoming a regular thing. Alazhay’s been trying to change the way she sleeps to alleviate as the pain is predominantly on one side. 🧘‍♀️
  • More tired: So you remember last week Alazhay’s energy was back? Well it’s gone. She is tired again this week so maybe Panda is having a growth spurt and zapping all Alazhays fuel.
  • Continued leg cramps

Body Changes: Her belly is definitely showing more now, and it’s getting rounder and cuter by the day. Last week’s belly circumference was 101cm, and this week it’s 105cm! 🎉 Panda is growing strong.

Emotional Rollercoaster: Afternoons usually bring a level of irritability, but the days are also filled with moments of pure joy and excitement. Feeling Panda move around is just the best feeling ever!

Fun Fact: Alazhay’s skin is looking more radiant. She’s glowing like a star! ✨

Thanks as always for following along on our journey. We’re loving every moment, and we’ll be back next week with another update and a new baby size comparison. Until then, keep the sweet treats coming and stay fabulous! 💖

What to Expect When You’re Expecting - Week 19 (A Baby’s Perspective)

Hey everyone! This week has been full of exciting developments for me as I grow bigger and stronger! I am 15 cm and weighing 225 grams👶💖

🌟 Vernix Caseosa: I'm now covered in vernix caseosa, a greasy, white, cheese-like coating that protects my skin and keeps it moisturised. It also prevents my skin from wrinkling in the amniotic fluid.

🌬️ Lung Development: My lungs are developing rapidly, with the main airways (bronchioles) beginning to form this week. This is getting me ready for that first big breath outside!

💃 Movement: You might be feeling my movements more now as I stretch and flex in here (there’s not much room, Mom). Can you feel me practising my dance moves?

💓 Heartbeat: My heart is beating strong, pumping all that fuel you're sending my way. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

👂 Sensory Development: My senses are developing more each day. I'm starting to recognize your voice, and it relaxes me.

💪 Other Developments: My bones are continuing to harden, and my nervous system is maturing, helping me move more purposefully.

I'm growing and changing every day, and I can't wait to share all these moments with you soon! Keep talking, singing, and loving us. We're getting to know each other more every day, and I'm eagerly anticipating the day we can finally meet. 🌟
